March 24 - 30, 2025 EXAMS HAVE OFFICIALLY STARTED!!

I am not gonna lie, I am very nervous for the upcoming days. This might be the most jam-packed week of my life. From Monday to Wednesday, I have to complete two major exams, each worth my entire grade. Both involve writing five-page reports that use theories and frameworks from class to answer complex questions.

I decided to start with the exam I felt most confident about. I felt more prepared for this one was because the class was structured as an exercise-based class, which helped me retain the material more effectively and understand what is expected on the exam. I focused all Monday on that report and was able to finish it by Tuesday morning. That gave me time to breathe and to proceed on the second exam.

The second exam pushed me to not only think critically, but creatively. I had to incorporate outside resources and explicitly apply course concepts related to Pussy Riot. Thankfully, I remembered that I had watched the Pussy Riot documentary in a class last year, so I was able to reference that as a source in my paper.

Still, the process was draining. What they don't tell you is that one of the most stressful parts isn't even writing the paper—it's making sure everything is referenced correctly. I spent majority of my last day double-checking to ensure that I wasn't unintentionally plagiarizing. It's so important to have direct sources and cite them properly, because even if it's not your intention to copy someone's work, you still need to give credit to the original thinkers behind the theories and ideas you're using. That layer of responsibility added another level of pressure but also reminded me just how crucial academic integrity really is.

Now that I have finished 2 out of 4 exams, I decided it was time for a well-deserved "me" day at the city center. Technically, I had plans to meet up with someone to study for our oral exam but I figure I could hit two birds with one stone. I was in a shopping mood, so we stopped by Naked CPH, Rezet Store, and Dr. Marten's. I have had my eyes on the Adrian Tassel Loafers for the longest time, and I knew this was the moment to finally get them NO REGRETS.

We didn't end up studying (oops) and instead spent the afternoon chatting and reflecting. BMO or bolle med ost is a classic Copenhagen breakfast: just a bun with butter and cheese, but somehow so satisfying. You can get one at almost any bakery, even if it is not on the menu. I have been obsessed lately because it is cheap, simple, and filling. There is something special about enjoying the little things in life.

Too Good To Go?

On days when I'm hungry but don't want to spend money on food delivery, I usually turn to Too Good To Go. It is an app that lets you buy a surprise bag of leftover goods from bakeries, cafes, or grocery stores; food that would otherwise go to waste. As a study abroad student living in on of the most expensive countries, it's been such a life saver. It helps me stay on budget, explore local spots I wouldn't have found otherwise, and reduce food waste all at the same time.

One of the unexpected perks is how it brings people together. Sometimes when I get Too Good To Go, the bags come with more food than I can eat, so I usually share the extras with my dorm mates. It bring everyone together. Something about bonding over pastries and surprise snacks just feels very 'Copenhagen'. It's these small moments that make this experience feel more like home.
