Tip #1: buy a plug converter. In Denmark, they have a unique plug that can differ across different countries in Europe. Check out Amazon for a European travel plug.
Tip #2: putting AirTags in your check-in luggage. If you are paranoid about losing your luggage (me), I suggest doing this. I found it very helpful to know where my luggage was, wherever I landed. If that isn't something your interested in, I highly suggest looking into flying with United. I like that they updated me when my bags were being loaded.
Tip #3: Apps you should download: these apps help with transportation in CPH!
1. Rejsekort: this app allows you to travel around CPH via metro, bus, or canal. It is very simple to use as all you have to do is slide the screen to start your journey (once you are in metro, bus, or canal bus) and slide it once you get off. This is a cheaper alternative, but still very expensive as it does charge you for each time you use the metro, bus, or canal.
2. DOT: this is another transportation app. It allows you to buy a ticket for the metro or bus. One of the features I like is that it gives you options of the fastest route and what bus number or metro line to take. Unlike Rejsekort, within 1 hour 15 mins, you can metro anywhere (as long as you stay in recommended zones).
3. Rejseplanen: is like google maps as it allows you to search up locations and show you times in advance. Similar to like a trip planner.
Tip #4: buying an E-Sim before arriving. In most cases, your phone provider often has deals that allow you to use data while abroad. But when you don't have access, it is safe to make sure you have an ESIM. I am currently using Holafly. I paid $30 for 7 days of unlimited data.
Tip #5: Credit cards with no international fees. In Copenhagen, you hardly pay with cash, most of everything will be paid with card. It is important to get a credit card that has no international fees. I use Capital One Venture Card to not only to build credit but also to build miles.
More tips to come but here are a couple after living here for 5 days. Stay tuned :)
